A challenge to Churches to face fears and anxieties raised by change. Intriguing, honest explanation of why necessary change is resisted, and how it might be overcome before it's too late. Would have given 5 stars if not so heavily laden with formal terminology during first 3 chapters.
This book was easy to read. I liked the practical application that can be implemented right now in my local congregation. There was good theological thought throughout the book. She also pointed to new ways of reading familiar parables that opened my eyes. This is a good book for my whole church leadership team to study together.
I have already recommended this book to multiple people. The content is great for the church, and also for those outside the church. It is written in a clear and easy to follow way.
Must read!
Interesting way of combining personal reflection and commentary.
Change is stressful with gains and losses intertwined. We look for God at the core of that intertwining and trust that the center holds .. Not just for the church but for all creation. I pray daily for that trust.
Recommended my a church official. Prof. Heath's book doesn't go very in depth with its Galatians study, and avoids issues that today's Christian "liberals", aka "progressives", don't like to confront. Sorry.
